Abuse)
"[...] I just want to keep playing and playing until my fingers go numb. It's an intense game that has many different levels and secret alternatives. So on a whole the game rocks. It has some really cool fun points. Hey it's just your typical fun kill everything on the screen type of game. It is definently a must buy for any BeOS action/arcade gaming freaks. " Ben Wendorf

Game
First review
"Abuse is an excellent heart-trashing "total kickbutt" type game featuring amazingly detailed two-dimensional graphics... [...] ...the graphics are just as heart-pounding as the non-stop action. [...] Altogether the music and tons of sound effects in Abuse, combined with often bizarre graphical scenes, add a lot of fun to the gaming experience. My twisted, disoriented, and damaged player's impression is that the game actually abuses whoever dares to go for it (just try the "Extreme" option). There can be many games with great interactive-movie sequences or whatever, but in Abuse, the action and the feeling of it really maximizes one part of a gaming experience: the adrenaline! That's the juice of Abuse. The recipe is: wait until night falls, turn off the lights, put the volume on max., and start the Abuse." Andrew Morozov

Game Revolution
player review For Mac ABUSE
"[...] ...the Mac version is a little more refined than its PC predecessor. [...] The graphics for the Mac version of Abuse have been improved. With smooth movement and sharp characters, this game is pretty fun to watch. [...] The control of Abuse is one of the easiest and smoothest I have ever encountered... All in all, Abuse is a game of sheer carnage. If you thought Doom was violent, you ain't seen nothing yet." Colin

"Abuse is a sidescrolling actiongame containing great graphics, nice sounds and a good story. [...] This game keeps the same class as the other ones from Bungie. Everything works perfect and the graphics are really nice. [...] The graphics are great and the monsters gets more evil the longer you play. You can also choose difficulty so it´s not that easy." |

"Abuse should be considered the "new school" of side-scrollers. With awesome graphics and weapons, as well as a cool interface, Abuse might pave the way for future high-action side scrolling games. [...] Abuse is a very challenging and entertaining side scrolling
game. The atmosphere is well crafted and combined with excellent choice
of weapons and a unique interface. The level editor definitely needs significant
improvement, but the game is still very good. It's a very good game at
a very reasonable price."

"The sound is as fierce as the action and as health units run out, a thumping heartbeat kicks in which is especially effective through a bollock-shaking bass speaker. Bungie.Com
Press Release
"Abuse will open the eyes of any gamer who thinks they’ve seen it all in side-scrolling action. The games smooth and instinctive Point-and-Kill interface uses the mouse to aim and fire in a 360 radius, which is critical to surviving lightning-fast attacks that come from every direction. Fast and fluid animation brings the player character to life as he runs, jumps, climbs, falls and flies through over 30 levels of fiendish traps and brutal combat." |

Abuse review at "Coming
Soon Magazine"
"Abuse can be very habit forming. It offers the dark thrill of not knowing just what's coming next, along with impressive visuals and excellent background sound effects. Game play is continuous and fast-paced. You'll find yourself deeply engrossed before you know it. Just make sure you save as you go." Glenn
